What Is the Meaning Behind the Song Again by Needtobreathe

NEEDTOBREATHE releases their new album "H A R D L O V E" on July 15, 2016.

NEEDTOBREATHE'due south 6th anthology would have seemed similar a pipe dream simply a few years ago. But equally of July fifteen, it's a reality complete with a North American bout.

The band was on the verge of an intense breakup after brothers Bo and Bear Rinehart found themselves in a heated sibling rivalry that collection them to a fist fight and landed Bear Rinehart in the hospital. Their concluding release "Wilderness" fleshed some of that out, and now they're back and stronger than ever with a lighter, more redemptive torso of piece of work.

Playing songs from new release "H A R D L O V E,"  the band will bring the Bout De Compadres with Mat Kearney, John Marker McMillan, Parachute and Welshly Artillery to the Subcontract Agency Insurance Backyard at White River Land Park on Aug. 27.

Hailing from Due south Carolina, NEEDTOBREATHE was birthed when the Rinehart brothers joined forces with higher friends Seth Bolt and Joe Stillwell. The band signed with Atlantic Records in 2005, released its first anthology in 2006 and afterwards toured with pop queen Taylor Swift in 2011. Stillwell exited the band in 2012.

"H A R D L O V East" focuses on relationships and the struggles and triumphs that come with them, but is conscientious not to romanticize them. Josh Lovelace, who joined the band in 2011 as a keyboardist and vocalist, told IndyStar that choosing "Hard Love" as the title track was a no-brainer. "I call up our whole tape shows that sometimes honey is difficult," he said. "We felt like it was the best picture of what the record actually stood for."

And then what exactly led up to the band's nigh demise? A competition ensued in which the Rinehart brothers fought to one-up each other creatively and refused to agree on annihilation. It got to the point where they had to have divide dressing rooms. All of these little things congenital up to that fist fight and ultimately brought the ring to reconciliation. It besides inspired the 2022 vocal "Blood brother," which features Gavin DeGraw.

"The ring has gone through a lot of ups and downs," Lovelace said. "We've had moments where we've almost quit and moments when we've decided to keep going. Our day-to-twenty-four hours is what inspired the states to do this tape. That's kind of what 'Hard Love' talks well-nigh. It's the day-to-day grind. It's waking upwards and committing to whatsoever you're doing or whoever y'all're committing to. It's learning how to work with the people you're with and learning how to honey them."

Just that'south not to say that the content is completely serious and somber, it's quite the opposite as "H A R D L O V E" draws more from the redemptive aspects of coming out of difficult situations and relationships.

"We just aren't in this terrible place anymore, so some of the songs that are on this record are just fun for fun'southward sake, which is different for usa," Lovelace said.

A flake of an enigma, NEEDTOBREATHE has found success in both Christian and mainstream markets, winning viii of the Gospel Music Clan's Dove awards and receiving nominations for 2 Billboard Music awards and 1 Grammy.

Unremarkably real and raw in the lyrical side of things, "H A R D 50 O 5 E" reveals a more lighthearted, fun side of the band. The anthemic clap-along tracks with Southern stylings that accept characterized the alternative band upwards to this indicate in its career are still nowadays only with some synthesized twists.

This latest release will perchance be easier to connect with lyrically, as the ring deviated from its normal style of writing heavily layered pieces to create simpler tracks with articulate accessibility.

"Nosotros had to reinvent ourselves after the last record, which was more stripped back and honest, but it was as well coming from a fairly dark place," Lovelace said. "We never actually pigeon into this kind of sonic landscape before. We've always created things that take multiple layers that you accept to dig through. Some of the songs on hither are the most straightforward things nosotros've ever washed, which is and then fun considering information technology'south first listen kind of stuff. You mind to information technology, and you're like, 'Oh, this is fun. I tin enjoy this.' It's been the almost fun record we've e'er made."

DJ Rupp talks render to Indiana, social media

Pursuit of happiness: Current single "Happiness" questions the concept of the pursuit of happiness and is introduced and ended with a sweeping gospel chorus. The music video shows a serial of people of different occupations and walks of life sprinting down a Los Angeles street, metaphorically chasing afterward their careers, dreams or whatsoever makes them happy. "The song talks near the things that you take to give up and sacrifice in lodge to do anything that you beloved, whether that's beingness in a band, working a nine-to-5 job or anything that requires a little chip of cede," Lovelace said. "In the video, nosotros wanted to create a kind of imagery that shows that we're all running towards something and trying to get to that next level. It's just the pursuit of the things that y'all love."

Timeless records:The album is the most experimental out of the band's discography with synth beats present in some tracks similar "Mountain Pt 1," a warbling prelude rails, and in the title track "Difficult Honey." The band deviated from its normal product process on this body of piece of work with each ring fellow member working out ideas on his ain earlier the band came together to make the album. "I feel similar we always wanted to make timeless records that would last forever," Lovelace said. "While we nevertheless want to practise that, we've never made a record that sounded similar today. We've never gone in saying let'southward brand a record that even if our parents absolutely hate information technology and in 10 years everybody is like that'south the worst record they always fabricated, it sounds like now, it's hot and it'south something that we can enjoy."

Soundtrack moments: Several songs on the anthology connect with the listener only by their universality as they explore common homo experiences from the band members' lives. 1 of these songs, "Exist Here Long," echoes the sentiments of a person who doesn't accept much fourth dimension to spend with a loved ane and how the fourth dimension left with that person must be cherished. "Smashing Dark" can connect with anyone who has ever experienced the feeling of getting off of piece of work on a Friday evening. This album is a musing on all of life's ups and downs viewed within the perspective of time. "There is a sense of freedom in the record, a sense of relish-yourself-while-you lot're-here," Lovelace said. "Even though life can get messy, the people around yous are what thing most. I hope that people walk away from it with a more intentional way of looking at their lives. Our lives are short. We have today, so enjoy it. These songs can exist the soundtrack to some of those moments in our lives."
